Zoo Day!

While Papa and Grandma Gast were still here we went to the zoo.  They kids all had a great time.  It was a wonderful day!

Klineline Park

Papa and Grandma Gast were here visiting for Madelynn's birthday.  While they were here we went to Klineline park.  It has a small beach with a roped swimming area in a pond.  They also have a big spray ground water feature.  The boys had so much fun playing in the water feature and swimming in the pond.  Madelynn liked the water feature a little but mostly liked hanging in her sun tent with Papa!

The Cake!

We got a couple of cakes for Madelynn's birthday.  On the left is her "smash cake" which was a chocolate cake with pink frosting. On the right was the cake for her guests.  It was a chocolate and vanilla cake with a strawberry filing between the layers and chocolate frosting.  At first Madelynn wasn't quite sure of her cake on her birthday.  After we gave her a spoon, she ended up eating some of the cake.  However, she really enjoyed playing in it.  She had so much fun destroying the cake but only ended up eating a few bites!

 Happy, Happy, Happy.
 This looks interesting.

Not sure she likes frosting on her fingers.

Happy One Year Madelynn!

It had been one year since God gave us our beautiful little girl, Madelynn. She is so sweet and loving. She snuggles and gives her mommy hugs all the time and she gives her daddy and big brothers kisses before she goes to bed. Her big brothers absolutely adore her and she can roar like a dinosaur just as well as they can. She is standing and pulling herself up on furniture all the time now. She has been crawling on her hands and knees but will still do a very quick army crawl to get somewhere fast. She is drinking all her milk from a sippy cup. We are enjoying the days with her as she becomes increasing interactive and her little personality develops. We feel truly blessed to have her apart of our family.

Skamania Lodge

Jeff was off work on Friday and so we decided to take a mini vacation.  We took the kids to Skamania Lodge to stay the night and go swimming.  It was only 45 minutes from our house.  They were so excited to go!  When we got there we went out to dinner. After we got back from dinner the hotel had a Falconry show going on. We went for a little bit and saw a falcon, bald eagle, and an owl. Then we took the kids in the swimming pool.  Wyatt was so proud that he could swim by himself with his floaties.  Tanner was a little more hesitant in the water, but after a while he was swimming all around.  It  was Madelynn's first time in a big swimming pool and she loved it. It was Madelynn's first time in a hotel and the boys' first experience sleeping in the same bed. They all did very well.  The next day we did more swimming before heading home. It was a great mini vacation with our family! :)
