Clark County Fair

A couple of weekends ago we took the kids to the Clark County (WA) Fair.  We went in most of the animal barns. Wyatt and Tanner went on carnival rides. We saw a big monster truck and had lunch.  Wyatt saw a trampoline/bungee jumping ride at the beginning of the midway so we let him try it out before we left. He learned to do some back-flips. We left with some caramel corn which everyone helped devour over a few days.

 Chickens (bauck-bauck)
 Baby chicks
 Superman llama
 Calf
2nd year in a row on the corvette ride
Roller coaster with daddy (Tanner was too short to ride alone.)
Big slide. Tanner looked scared as he rode down but he held it together.
Look Papa Gast, it's a John Deere.

Learning to jump on the trampoline/bungee

Wow! That's high.

Butterflies!

Aunt Becky sent us a butterfly garden.  The boys were so excited!  She also sent a fantastic book that explained how it was going to work.  First we sent away for our caterpillars.  Then we watched and waited for them to get bigger and make their chrysalis. Then we had to wait for them to come out as butterflies.  We kept our butterflies for a couple of days and feed them sugar water and apples.   We had five butterflies so each of us named one.  Our butterflies were named Fred, Flutter, Red, Dinosaur butterfly and Glitter. Then we let them go out in the backyard.

Homemade Ice Cream!

The boys and I made homemade ice cream the other day.  You put the ingredients in a ziploc bag and put it into another bigger bag with salt and ice. Then you shake it until it freezes into ice cream.  Wyatt was not excited about the shaking part!  It turned out pretty well and tasted yummy!
